We require a 20% deposit in order to secure the tour, preferably 11 months prior to secure best flights. Another 2 payments in between spread out and final payment due 8 weeks before departure. Please refer to your confirmation booking form for your specific payment schedule.

Unfortunately, deposits are not refundable as they will have been put towards supplier payments. Deposits can be transferred to another traveller (dependent on timing).

This is your first payment made towards your tour to secure your booking and your spot on the tour. The company uses this deposit money to secure flights and accommodation.

Payment terms are set out in the booking confirmation form, this tells you when you need to make payments toward the tour as they are linked to our payment terms with our suppliers to pay off the service booked towards the tour. If you miss these payment terms, then penalties can be applied.

Pure-Travel will advise you on what visas you need and guide you through the whole process from application. Meetings with the parents as well as the final visa appointment. However, we cannot guarantee the approval of a visa.

All our quotes come standard with group travel insurance. We will send a copy of inclusions upon confirmation of booking. Travel insurance is compulsory for international travel and is included at a small fee. For a relatively small price, travel insurance provides you with the peace of mind so that you can enjoy your tour without any worries.  Travel insurance will cover a medical situation and hospitalisation, cancellation of accommodation and travel as well as baggage loss or theft.

This is when the group or person decided not to travel anymore then the company is allowed to charge cancellation fees according to the T’s &C’s set out. We do suggest that if a person withdraws from the tour to find a replacement for the person otherwise it will impact the tour cost.

A general guideline of our cancellation charges are as follows:

  • Deposit payment is non-refundable – 20% of total price
  • 12 – 16 weeks prior to departure – 50% of total price
  • 08 – 12 weeks prior to departure – 75% of total price
  • Less than 8 weeks prior to departure- 100% of total price

Please refer to our terms and conditions under cancellations.

Absolutely, we can. We offer local and regional flights as well as transport costs for group travel. Please note a minimum of 10 passengers is required to form a group.

Yes, you will need a passport to travel internationally and across any borders within Africa.  Your home country will have specific requirements for obtaining a passport. In most cases, you can obtain a passport from your local passport office or Department of Home Affairs.

All South African passport holders require a visa to travel if the country that you are travelling to requires it. The visa process can take up to 20 working days for approval so please ensure that you apply timeously.

It’s a birth certificate that reflects the particulars of both parents of the child.  All children born in South Africa after 14 March 2013 were issued with a valid unabridged birth certificate automatically and free of charge.  Everyone born before that, and those from countries who do not automatically issue unabridged certificates, must apply for the document well before their travel date.

When a child travels with a guardian, they must produce an unabridged birth certificate, valid passports, an affidavit in which both parents give consent for the child to travel, documentation stating the person’s contact details and residential address & contact details where the child will be residing. The affidavit should be no more than 3 months old from date of travel.

They will still be required to submit an original birth certificates and, parental consent or certified copies during the visa application process.

For visa-exempt countries a strong advisory has been issued, with travellers advised to have proof of relationship and consent from the absent parent/s or guardian/s, in case they are asked to provide such on arrival. It has been recommended by the US Embassy that US citizens should carry an authorisation letter that is notarised.

If a child is travelling alone to South Africa, the child must have a letter from the person that will be receiving him/her in South Africa. It must contain the person’s address, contact details, as well as a copy of the host’s identity document or passport.

Due to weight and space limitations, you are allowed to bring one main piece of luggage weighing no more than 20kg and one small soft bag for hand luggage not weighing more than 7kg. These weight limitations are airline dependent, please enquire from your airline what their specific requirements are.

The minimum is 10 paying passengers which constitutes as a group with suppliers. We do not have a maximum but if over 50 passengers we will need to arrange for another coach and activities might be staggered between groups.

Certainly – all our packages are tailor made to the client’s requirements.

This is dependent on the school and if they need more time for fund raising, but we suggest a minimum of 12 months, so we are able to secure the best possible flight routing and price which is only available 11 months prior to your travel date.

Pure-Travel will always send a tour director with you (unless school requests otherwise) who will be on hand throughout the tour duration. We also have a 24-hour emergency number for when you are travelling.

Change in numbers might change the cost per student as fixed costs such as transport, staff and guides will be shared between less or more students. Generally, the more students you have the lower the price will be.

At Pure-Travel we do everything in our power to protect the client against rate of exchange fluctuations. We have a rate of exchange guarantee which means as soon as the deposit has been received and we’ve confirmed the flights we will freeze the rate protecting you against any future fluctuations in the exchange rates.

We will work with you as best we can to come up with the best payment schedule but the deposit and final payment is least flexible as we have to work around suppliers deadlines. Please refer to our Terms and conditions under late payments.

Please confirm if the school’s policy allows for this. We do however offer supporter packages on request.
